- 10.55 p.m :"The cyclone will not have much damaging capacity
as the wind speeds are only 60-90 kmph. Only temporary houses and
some communication equipment is likely to be affected," stated Director
of Meteorological department, R K Kankane.

- 6.55 p.m : The cyclonic storm over the Arabian Sea is likely
to cross the Gujarat coast between Nalia and Veraval late tonight
or tomorrow morning. According to the Director General of the Meteorological
Department, Mr. R.R.Kelkar, the cyclone is presently located about
250 kilometers south-west of Porbander and it is moving slowly in
the northern direction. The cyclone has by now considerably weakened
and is unlikely to be destructive. A Control Room official Mr. D.M.
Makwana told that widespread heavy rains accompanied by squally wind
reaching speed of 60 to 70 kilometers per hour are likely over Saurashtra
and Kutch during the next 24 hours.

will pass by Nalia , Jakhau and proceed to Pakistan - As per Kandla

weakens : Meanwhile, the Indian Meteorological department says
a cyclone that has threatened India and Pakistan for several days is
weakening.

is expected to hit Anjar and the areas around Kandla Port the weather
Bureau has predicted that it will not hit Bhuj
- The storm is
drifting north over the Arabian sea, but officials are warning that
it could change direction and hit land.
- Emergency
services are on standby in India's western state of Gujarat to evacuate
residents if necessary.
- All ports in
the coastal region including Kandla, one of the country's biggest ports,are
closed as a precautionary measure.
- Along
with India, there is a possibility of areas in Pakistan also being affected
by the cyclone.

"Kutch,
Saurashtra in Gujarat and parts of Pakistan are likely to be affected,"
IMD Regional Director (Ahmedabad) Dr R K Kankane, said on Monday.
